Most people who ask about MOXI have looked at resurfacing before and stopped at the downtime. A week of peeling is a real cost when you have work, school runs, and a calendar that does not clear.
There is also a second group, usually in their late twenties and thirties, whose skin is not damaged yet. Nothing is wrong. It is just starting to look a little flatter than it used to, and they would rather stay ahead of it than wait for something to correct.

MOXI uses a single non-ablative wavelength at 1927 nm, delivered in microscopic columns across the skin. It works close to the surface, where superficial pigment lives.
That focus is the whole design. By staying shallow and non-ablative it clears unevenness, lifts dullness, and brings back reflectivity without breaking the skin surface. There is no bronzed shedding phase and no week of hiding.
The trade is honest. MOXI will not do what a deeper laser does. It is not the answer for indented acne scarring or significant textural damage. What it does well is tone, clarity, and keeping skin ahead of the damage rather than chasing it afterwards.
Superficial brown spots and the mottled unevenness that early sun exposure leaves. The 1927 nm wavelength is specifically suited to pigment near the surface.
Skin that looks flat or grey rather than clear. Reflectivity is largely a surface property, and this is the treatment that restores it most directly.

MOXI sits at the accessible end of our resurfacing range, which is part of why it works as a regular treatment rather than a one-off event. It is priced per session and by area, with face alone costing less than face with neck and chest.
It works best as a series, typically three or four sessions spaced a few weeks apart, then repeated periodically to maintain. That structure suits people who would rather spread the cost and the appointments than take a single larger treatment.

Probably not, and this is one of the few treatments where starting earlier genuinely makes sense. MOXI is often chosen in the late twenties and thirties, before visible damage has accumulated. Keeping ahead of pigment and maintaining skin clarity is easier than correcting years of it later. That said, if nothing is bothering you and your skin is in good condition, we are happy to tell you to come back in a few years.
MOXI is generally well tolerated across skin types, and being non-ablative and relatively gentle works in its favour here. It is often the more sensible starting point for deeper skin tones than an aggressive ablative treatment. Settings are still selected for your skin type rather than applied uniformly, and your skin is assessed at consultation before anything is booked.
Possibly, and this is a conversation rather than a yes. Melasma is the one concern here where laser is genuinely contested, because heat can trigger it to rebound and return worse. MOXI’s gentler, non-ablative approach is sometimes better tolerated than aggressive resurfacing, but that is not a guarantee and some cases are better managed with topical treatment and strict sun protection first. We will not treat melasma aggressively just because you asked.
Two questions answer it. What is your concern, and how much downtime can you take. If it is pigment, tone, and brightness and your calendar is tight, MOXI. If you also have texture, lines, or scarring and can take about a week, the TriBrid. The TriBrid actually contains MOXI’s wavelength, so it does everything MOXI does and more, but it asks for considerably more recovery. As Dr. Dana puts it, the TriBrid can be too much if all you need is MOXI.
Usually from the next day, which is another reason people choose this treatment. We will ask you to leave the skin alone for the first 24 hours and to be gentle with cleansing while it settles. Daily sunscreen matters more than usual afterwards, because freshly treated skin is vulnerable and new sun exposure will undo the pigment work you just paid for.
