PRP Therapy in Orlando

Your own platelets, concentrated and put back to work on your skin or scalp. PRP therapy at our Lake Nona med spa, serving Orlando and the surrounding area.

You want something that is not a foreign substance

Plenty of people are ready to do something about their skin and still hesitate at the idea of putting a manufactured product into their face. That hesitation is reasonable, and it is the most common reason people ask us about PRP first.

PRP is different on exactly that point. There is no product. The material comes out of your own arm, gets concentrated, and goes back on your skin in the same appointment.

What PRP therapy actually involves

It starts with a small blood draw, the same as any routine lab. The tube goes into a centrifuge, which separates the blood and leaves a concentrated layer of platelets and plasma behind.

That concentrate is what goes back onto you. On the face it is most often applied across skin that has just been microneedled, so it lands where the channels are open. For the scalp it is delivered to the treatment area directly.

Because the material is yours, there is no product to react to, which is the reason many people choose it over other options. What it can and cannot change is a conversation we have in person, before you commit to a series.

Where PRP therapy is used

Facial skin quality

Overall texture, tone and the general tired look that shows up before actual lines do. This is the most common reason people book it.

Hair and scalp

Thinning along the part and at the temples. Scalp PRP is treated as its own course of visits rather than as an add-on to a facial.

Paired with microneedling

PRP applied straight after a microneedling pass is the pairing most people mean when they say PRP facial.

Under-eye area

The thin skin under the eyes where most people are cautious about anything stronger. We assess whether it is appropriate for you in person.

Sensitive or reactive skin

Because the material is your own, PRP is often the option we reach for when a manufactured product is a concern.

PRP at our studio is aesthetic only. We do not treat joints, tendons or back pain here. If that is what you are looking for, an orthopedic practice is the right place to ask.

How we keep expectations honest

PRP gets talked about in bigger terms than it deserves. Here is how we handle that.

We describe it plainly

PRP is a concentrate of your own platelets. We will tell you what it is used for and where the evidence is still developing rather than overselling it to close a booking.

Results build over a series

A single session is rarely the whole story. Most people are looking at a course of visits spaced roughly a month apart, and we say so before you pay for the first one.

We will tell you if it is not the right fit

If what is bothering you would respond better to a laser, a peel or filler, we will say so. Sometimes that means recommending something other than what you came in asking about.

Treatments at our studio are performed by licensed professionals. You can read more about our team on Marcela Mayorga’s page and Dr. Manuel Colon Mendez’s page before you book.

What your appointment actually looks like

Four steps, start to finish. Plan for a little longer than a standard facial because of the draw and the spin.

1. Consultation

We look at your skin or scalp, talk through what you are hoping to change, and decide together whether PRP is the right starting point.

2. The blood draw

A small amount of blood is drawn, exactly as it would be for routine lab work. If needles are a problem for you, tell us and we will talk it through first.

3. Spin and prepare

The sample goes into a centrifuge, which separates out the concentrated platelet layer. This part takes a few minutes and you simply wait.

4. Application

The concentrate is applied to the treatment area, often immediately after microneedling on the face. Expect redness for a day or so afterward.

Understanding costs

The main variables are the treatment area, whether PRP is being paired with microneedling, and how many sessions your plan calls for. Scalp and face are quoted separately because the protocol differs.

Since PRP is usually a series rather than a one-off, we quote the course rather than a single visit, so you can see the whole commitment before you start it.

Frequently Asked Questions about PRP Therapy

Is PRP safe?

It is derived from your own blood, so there is no foreign product to react to and no question of rejection. As with any procedure that breaks the skin, your history still matters, which is why we take it before treating you.

Most people are looking at a series of around three sessions spaced roughly a month apart, followed by occasional maintenance. Your number depends on what we are treating and we give it to you at the consultation.

Yes. PRP is commonly paired with microneedling, and it is also used alongside laser work and after filler. We map the order and the spacing with you rather than stacking things on the same day by default.

It is the same as a routine blood test. Brief, and over quickly. If needles are genuinely difficult for you, say so when you book and we will talk about how to make it easier.

Expect redness for a day or so, more if PRP was paired with microneedling. Most people carry on as normal the next day. You leave with instructions specific to what you had done.

Yes, scalp PRP is one of the things we are asked about most. It is handled as its own course of visits rather than as an add-on, and we assess whether it suits your situation before starting.

The practical difference is where the material comes from: PRP is drawn from you on the day, exosome serum is a topical product applied after treatment. Our blog compares the two in detail.

No. PRP here is aesthetic only, for skin and scalp. Joint, tendon and back treatment is orthopedic work and belongs with an orthopedic practice, not a med spa.
