For a long time resurfacing meant choosing between two disappointments. Ablative lasers gave you a real change and cost you two weeks of hiding. Non-ablative lasers let you carry on with your life and gave you a result you had to squint to see.
Most people gave up somewhere in the middle of that trade and went back to serums.
Halo exists because that choice was a false one. It runs an ablative and a non-ablative wavelength in the same pass, which is what lets it deliver a visible change on a timeline you can actually plan around.

Halo delivers two wavelengths through the same handpiece in a single pass. The 2940 nm wavelength is ablative and works at the surface, clearing damaged tissue to smooth texture and soften fine lines. The 1470 nm wavelength is non-ablative and travels deeper, heating the dermis to trigger collagen and elastin remodelling without breaking the surface.
Running both together is the point. The ablative half gives you the visible clearing that makes brown spots and roughness improve within days. The non-ablative half does the structural work that keeps improving for months. Neither wavelength on its own produces what the pair produce together.
Because the energy is delivered in microscopic columns with healthy tissue left between them, you heal in days rather than the weeks that fully ablative resurfacing demands.

Roughness you can feel, and pores that have widened over time. The ablative wavelength works directly on the surface where both live.

The deeper wavelength reaches indented scarring. Significant scarring may be better served by CO2, and we will say so if that is the case.
Halo sits in the middle of our resurfacing range. If your concern is pigment alone and you cannot spare the downtime, MOXI may serve you better. If you have several of these at once, the TriBrid handles them in one session. We will tell you which is right rather than defaulting to this one.
We run four resurfacing platforms and Halo is the middle rung. More wavelengths is not automatically better. A broader treatment reaches more layers but costs more downtime, and there is no sense buying downtime you do not need.
MOXI sits below Halo. One wavelength at the surface, aimed at pigment and brightness, with the least downtime we offer. The right call when your concern is specific and your calendar is not flexible.

We assess your skin, ask what bothers you most, and talk through how much recovery time you can realistically take. That last answer sets the treatment depth more than anything else.
Numbing cream goes on 30 to 60 minutes beforehand and is given time to work properly. Certain medications and recent sun exposure need managing first, and we will give you the specific list.
Motion-tracking measures the area so coverage stays even. The handpiece rolls across the skin with integrated cooling. Expect heat and occasional prickling. Typically 15 to 30 minutes of treatment time.
Warmth like sunburn for the first hour. Around day two or three a bronzed, sandpaper texture forms as treated tissue works to the surface, then sheds. Brightness arrives first, firmness keeps building for months.

Halo is priced per session and by the area treated. Face alone sits lower than face with neck and chest, which is a common combination because the neck and chest usually show sun damage just as clearly as the face does.
Most people need one or two sessions rather than a long series, which is a meaningful part of the value. A lighter laser may cost less per visit and still cost more overall once you count the number of visits.
We will not quote you without seeing your skin. At your consultation you get a written plan naming the treatment depth, the number of sessions, the downtime to expect, and the full cost before you commit to anything.
A calm, private space in Lake Nona, not a clinic that feels like a waiting room. You will be looked after by the same small team each visit.
Plan for three to five days where your skin is visibly recovering. Redness and warmth on day one, then around day two or three a bronzed sandpaper texture forms as treated tissue works its way to the surface. It sheds by day four or five. You can work through it, but you would not want a wedding or a client presentation in that window. Deeper treatment settings push toward the longer end.
You will feel it, and we would rather be straight about that. Numbing cream goes on 30 to 60 minutes beforehand and is given proper time to work. During treatment most people describe heat with occasional prickling. The handpiece has integrated cooling that makes a real difference. Afterwards the skin feels warm, like sunburn, for roughly an hour.
Usually one or two. That is the main argument for Halo over lighter lasers, which often need four or more sessions to approach a comparable result. Whether you need a second depends on how much sun damage you have accumulated and how deep we treat the first time. Some people prefer two gentler sessions to one deeper one, and that is a legitimate choice.
In two stages. Pigment and brightness improve first, with most of that visible between five days and three weeks once the treated skin has shed. Then a slower phase of collagen remodelling continues improving firmness and texture for three to six months. Judging your result at week one means judging half of it.
Halo was designed to be used across skin types, but that does not make settings irrelevant. More melanin absorbs more laser energy, so treatment depth and parameters have to be selected for your skin type rather than applied uniformly. Your skin type is assessed at consultation before anything is booked. Running four platforms means that if Halo is not the right fit for your skin, we have alternatives rather than a reason to push ahead.
Halo runs two wavelengths, 1470 nm and 2940 nm. The TriBrid runs three, adding 1927 nm, which is the wavelength MOXI uses for superficial pigment. So the TriBrid contains what Halo does and adds to it. Broader is not automatically better. The TriBrid reaches more layers in one session but asks for more downtime. If your concerns sit where Halo works, Halo is the better trade.
Sometimes, and carefully. Melasma is the one concern here where laser is genuinely contested, because heat can trigger it to rebound and return worse than before. Some cases respond to conservative settings, others are better managed with topical treatment and strict sun protection first. We will not treat melasma aggressively just because you asked. If we think laser is the wrong route for your melasma, we will tell you and explain why.
The pigment clearing is durable, but it is not protection against new damage. Halo cleared the sun damage you had already accumulated. It cannot stop more forming, so results last longest for people who wear sunscreen daily afterwards. The collagen improvement builds for months and then declines slowly with normal ageing. Many people maintain with lighter treatments rather than repeating a full Halo.
