Laser Skin Resurfacing in Orlando

Sun damage, uneven tone, rough texture, and acne scarring, treated at the layer where they actually live. Four resurfacing lasers under one roof at our Lake Nona med spa, serving Orlando and the surrounding area.

You've probably been told to just use a better moisturiser

Most people arrive having already spent a few hundred dollars on serums. Vitamin C for the brown spots. Retinol for the texture. Something expensive for the dullness. Some of it helped a little, none of it did what the packaging suggested.

That isn’t a failure of discipline. Topical products work on the surface of the skin. Sun damage sits in the pigment layer, texture and scarring sit in the dermis, and collagen loss sits deeper still. A cream cannot reach any of them.

Resurfacing works because it does reach them. The trade is downtime, and how much downtime depends entirely on which laser is right for you.

Not sure which one you need, or whether you need one at all? That’s what the consultation is for. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

What laser resurfacing actually does

A resurfacing laser delivers energy into the skin in thousands of microscopic columns, leaving healthy tissue untouched between them. Those untreated bridges are what let you heal in days rather than weeks.

Two things happen. Damaged pigment and worn surface tissue are cleared away, which is why brown spots and rough texture improve first. Deeper in, the heat triggers a wound-healing response that rebuilds collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months.

So the first result is brightness and smoothness, usually within a week or two. The second result is firmness and softened scarring, and that one keeps developing for three to six months. Anyone showing you a dramatic photo taken at day seven is showing you only the first half.

What resurfacing treats

Sun damage and brown spots

Brown spots, age spots, and the general mottling that decades of Florida sun leaves behind. Usually the first thing to improve and the most visible change.

Uneven tone and dullness

Skin that looks patchy or grey rather than clear. Often what people mean when they say their skin looks tired without being able to point at why.

Rough texture and enlarged pores

Roughness you can feel with your fingertips, and pores that have stretched over time. Resurfacing addresses the surface directly rather than disguising it.

Fine lines

The early etched lines around the eyes and mouth. Resurfacing works on the skin quality itself, which is a different job to relaxing a muscle.

Acne scarring

Indented scarring left behind long after the acne itself cleared. This is deeper work and usually needs the more thorough end of our range.

Most people arrive with more than one of these at once, which is normal and usually treatable in the same plan. Which laser we reach for depends on which concern is doing the most damage to how your skin looks.

Which laser is right for you

We run four resurfacing platforms, and that is deliberate. More wavelengths is not automatically better. A broader treatment reaches more layers, but it also costs more downtime, and there is no sense buying downtime you do not need.

Here is how we choose between them.

MOXI — the targeted one

One wavelength, 1927 nm, working at the surface. Targeted at pigment, tone, and brightness with the least downtime of anything we run. The right choice when your concern is specific and you cannot take a week away. Also the easiest to repeat as maintenance.

Halo — the hybrid

Two wavelengths, 1470 nm and 2940 nm, working together. Surface texture and deeper renewal in the same session. The middle of the range, and the one most people land on when they want a visible change without the longest recovery.

Halo TriBrid — the complete one

All three wavelengths, 1470, 1927 and 2940 nm, independently controlled. It contains what MOXI and Halo each do and treats every layer in one appointment. Broader, not automatically better. If a lighter laser would handle your concern, we will tell you so.

CO2 — the deepest

The most aggressive resurfacing we offer, and the deepest. Reserved for significant acne scarring and advanced sun damage where lighter lasers would take many sessions to approach the same result. Most downtime, most correction.

All four platforms are used by a licensed provider who selects settings based on your skin type, your concerns, and how much recovery time you can realistically take. Results vary from person to person. At your consultation you get an honest assessment rather than a promise, including whether resurfacing is the wrong answer for you.

What your appointment actually looks like

Four steps, start to finish. We’ll talk you through each one as we go.

Consultation and skin assessment

We look at your skin properly, ask what bothers you most, and talk through how much recovery time you can realistically take. That last question decides more than anything else. You leave with a written plan and a cost.

Preparing your skin

Some skin types benefit from a few weeks of preparation beforehand, and certain medications and recent sun exposure need managing first. We will give you the specific list rather than a generic handout.

The session itself

Numbing cream first, then the treatment itself, typically 30 to 60 minutes depending on the laser and the area. You will feel heat and prickling. We check in with you throughout rather than pressing on regardless.

Healing and results

Expect redness and a sandpaper texture that sheds over several days. Brightness arrives first. Firmness and scar softening build over three to six months, so the final result is not the one you see in week one.

Questions before you’re ready to book anything? Call us on (407) 730-5600 and ask. No pressure either way.

Understanding costs

Resurfacing is priced by the laser and by the area treated. A MOXI session on the face sits at the accessible end. A full TriBrid or CO2 treatment is a bigger investment, because it is doing considerably more work in one visit.

The number of sessions differs too. Lighter treatments are usually a series spaced a few weeks apart. Deeper ones often achieve in one session what a lighter laser needs several to approach.

We will not quote you without seeing your skin, because the honest answer depends on what we find. At your consultation you get a written plan naming the laser, the number of sessions, the expected downtime, and the full cost before you commit to anything.

Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Skin Resurfacing

How much downtime should I expect?

It depends entirely on which laser, which is why we ask about your calendar before we recommend anything. MOXI is roughly two to three days of looking a little flushed and rough. Halo is around four to five days of visible redness and shedding. TriBrid and CO2 sit at about a week where you would not want to be in meetings. None of it is painful, but it is visible, and we would rather you planned for it than were surprised by it.

Two questions decide it. What is your main concern, and how much recovery time can you realistically take. Pigment and dullness with no time to spare points to MOXI. Texture and general renewal points to Halo. Multiple concerns at once, or wanting it handled in a single visit, points to the TriBrid. Significant acne scarring points to CO2. We make that call together at the consultation, with your skin in front of us.

You will feel it, and we would rather be straight about that. Numbing cream goes on first and stays on long enough to work properly. During treatment most people describe heat and a prickling sensation, stronger with the deeper lasers. It is manageable and it is over in under an hour. Afterwards the skin feels like a hot sunburn for several hours, which cool air and the aftercare we give you will settle.

Lighter treatments like MOXI are usually a series of three or four, spaced a few weeks apart, and work best repeated over time. Halo often produces a clear result in one or two. The TriBrid and CO2 are frequently a single session, because they do in one visit what a lighter laser needs several to build toward. Part of choosing the right laser is deciding whether you would rather do it gradually or all at once.

Yes, with the right laser and the right settings. Deeper skin tones carry more melanin, which absorbs laser energy, so an inappropriate setting risks burns or pigment changes. This is exactly why running four platforms matters. We can select the wavelength and energy that suits your skin type rather than pushing every patient through the same device. Your skin type is assessed at consultation before anything is booked.

Sometimes, and carefully. Melasma is the one concern here where laser is genuinely contested, because heat can trigger it to rebound and come back worse than before. Some cases respond well to conservative settings, others are better managed with topical treatment and strict sun protection first. We will not treat melasma aggressively just because you asked us to. If we think laser is the wrong route for your melasma, we will tell you and explain why.

You can, with planning. The issue is sun exposure on treated skin rather than the season itself. Freshly resurfaced skin is vulnerable, and sun afterwards can undo the pigment correction you just paid for. That means daily sunscreen and genuinely staying out of it during healing. In Florida that takes commitment, which is why many people prefer to start in autumn and be finished before summer.

The pigment correction is durable, but it is not permanent protection. The treatment cleared the sun damage you already had. It cannot stop new damage forming, so results last longest for people who wear sunscreen consistently afterwards. The collagen improvement continues building for three to six months and then gradually declines with normal ageing. Most people maintain with lighter treatments rather than repeating a deep one.

Didn’t see your question here? Just ask us. Nothing is too basic and we would rather you booked knowing exactly what to expect.

We'd love to meet you

There’s nothing to decide today. Come in, tell us what’s been bothering you about your skin, and we’ll tell you honestly which laser fits, or whether none of them do.

The right laser, not the only laser

Four resurfacing platforms under one roof, so we can match the laser to your skin instead of matching your skin to the only laser we own.

Honest about what you need

If a lighter treatment would get you there, we will say so. If resurfacing is the wrong answer for your concern, we will say that too.
